About Lisa
After working in the corporate world for 19 years, I opened my own event decorating and design business when the Minneapolis corporation I was working for laid off 2500 people. It was evident that after 2 years of interviews trying to find the same tired job (that deep down I didn’t want), I found I was either overqualified or underqualified. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt I had God-given talents and the ability to transform anything and everything to beauty. So with great “fear and trembling” I hired myself and in June of 2004 Designs by Lisa of Elk River was born! 20 years later, we celebrated with a new and improved website, and in January 2025 changed the legal business name to Designs by Lisa Event Rentals.

Designs by Lisa Event Rentals specializes in artificial trees and greenery rentals for corporate events and high profile production companies. Rent-A-Woods was birthed in 2018 and when we put together artificial trees, greenery and ground cover to create a forest bringing the outside in! Having a theme party? We have the product and the means to create any type of woods, jungle, nautical or prairie theme your looking for. Corporate Christmas decorating and rentals is another popular service we have been offering since our inception 21 years ago!
